BIRMINGHAM, AL, UNITED STATES, August 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Bessemer Housing Authority (BHA) will take another step toward bringing the BHA Dream Center to life on Thursday, August 20, when it announces the winner of its community slogan contest during a special event at the future Dream Center, 1515 Fairfax Avenue in Bessemer.

But the evening will be about much more than revealing a slogan.

The event is designed to bring together the people the Dream Center is being created to serve with the partners, stakeholders and potential investors who can help make its vision a reality.

Guests will have an opportunity to meet members of the community, connect with BHA leadership, take a short tour of the Dream Center and learn more about the programs and opportunities envisioned for the facility.
The winning slogan will be announced during the event, marking another opportunity for the community to help shape the identity of a center being built with them in mind.

“The Dream Center isn't simply about a building. It's about what can happen inside that building and the lives that can be changed because it exists,” said Cortney Coleman, BHA Executive Director. “On August 20, we want our partners and potential investors to meet the community behind this vision.
