Attorney General Rayfield Statement on Trump’s New Birthright Citizenship Executive Orders

Statements from Attorney General Dan Rayfield

Attorney General Dan Rayfield issued the following statement after President Trump signed two new executive orders today attempting to narrow birthright citizenship, weeks after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected his earlier effort to restrict it.

“Birthright citizenship is settled law. The Supreme Court has already weighed in on this issue. President Trump just can’t take no for an answer. Oregonians deserve a government that treats the Constitution as the final word, and treats people with basic human dignity, not as political targets.”
